Pogba scuffed a shot from distance after beating his man and then immediately signalled he had hurt himself.
After trying to run it off the £89million man was substituted before the half-hour mark. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was brought on in his place.
The latest pictures of the United star, taken outside the Lowry hotel, seemed to show Pogba ambling slightly as he left the building - but the absence of crutches are a promising sign.
The 23-year-old also appeared in good spirits, pausing for a selfie with a fan.
The news will come as a blow to manager Jose Mourinho whose side are already struggling for form and are dealing with a number of other injuries.
United are without a league __win in their last four matches. The last time they picked up three points was against Premier League champions Leicester in September.
