Georginio Wijnaldum is a doubt for Liverpool’s clash __with Manchester United after limping out of Holland’s defeat to France.

Former Newcastle midfielder Wijnaldum was forced off after an hour of his country’s 1-0 defeat on Monday __with a suspected hamstring injury.

Should the 25-year-old be ruled out of the Anfield clash next Monday, Emre Can is expected to return to the starting line-up.

Earlier this week Can, who has only made three substitute appearances in the Premier League this term due to his own injuries, spoke of his desire to play more first-team football.

“I am a very, very bad watcher!” Can told Liverpool’s official website.

“Of course I’m always happy when my team wins, but it’s always different when you play.

“I have to work hard. I have to get fitness back. If I get game time – which is always different to training – I have to work hard on my game and get confidence again.

“That’s very important for me. I haven’t played so many minutes this season but of course my target is to play a lot of minutes again.”
