Sunderland revive transfer interest in Austria defensive duo Martin Hinteregger and Aleksandar Dragovic

Sunderland boss David Moyes has renewed his interest in Austria international defenders Martin Hinteregger and Aleksandar Dragovic, writes Clive Hetherington in the Sunday People .

The Black Cats were represented in Vienna on Thursday night as both men played the full 90 minutes in a World Cup qualifying draw with Wales .

Sunderland also tracked Hinteregger, 24, and Dragovic, 25, last season during Sam Allardyce’s reign, while Moyes also has a long-standing interest in the duo.

As Manchester United boss, the Scot targeted Augsburg’s Hinteregger, who plays centre-back or left-back, when he was with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

And Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Dragovic – then with Basel of Switzerland – was on Moyes’ radar back when he was in charge of Everton.
