Mauricio Pochettino has declared himself “very happy” __with Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
An own-goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and a lovely finish from Dele Alli handed Spurs the three points and moved them to within a point of Pep Guardiola’s Premier League leaders.
Pochettino was full of praise for his players’ “passion and aggression” following the match and hopes they can keep it up after the international break.
“It was a great, great victory for us against this opposition. I am very happy. Sometimes when you have a plan, it is good, sometimes less so, but Manchester City are a great team,” said the Argentinian.
“It is difficult to play against them. We need to follow this after the international match and we have more tough games after the international break.

“If you play like we did today __with passion and aggression then you will always have a chance. It is always about mentality. That is what helps us run and play as we want to.”
Erik Lamela’s limp spot-kick was easily saved by Claudio Bravo in the second half and the taker apparently argued with Son Heung-min over who was meant to take the penalty.
But Pochettino played down the event, saying: “It happens in all teams. Everyone can miss a penalty. We will analyse, but it is not a big issue.
“The collective performance was strong. It is too early to take this into the table yet. We are still creating out philosophy.”
