Carragher tips Man United to challenge for title

Manchester United

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher reckons Manchester United will be “right up there” in the Premier League come the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho’s side sit sixth in the league standings and have only picked up four points from their last four games in the Premier League, including losses to Manchester City and Watford.

However, Carragher thinks Mourinho’s “experience” of winning the title will stand them in good stead for the rest of the campaign.

“It probably feels like that [Liverpool more likely to win title than United] now, because of how Liverpool have started the season, but it was only two or three days ago we were saying it was going to be a shoot-out for the league between United and City,” he told Sky Sports.

“I still think United will be right up there come the end of the season, the manager has got great experience of winning the Premier League, so I certainly wouldn’t write Manchester United off at such an early stage.

“I think them, and hopefully Liverpool, will be up there fighting for the title.”
