Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he is “worried” about the extent of Erik Lamela’s injury.
Lamela has been sidelined for Tottenham since playing against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on October 25.
He sustained a hip injury during that game, and has missed six fixtures in all competitions for Pochettino’s side.
They have struggled without the Argentinean, losing three, drawing two and winning just one of those games, as well as losing their place in the Champions League and their unbeaten Premier League start.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Pochettino issued a positive update __with regards to Toby Alderweireld, but the prognosis on Lamela is far more bleak.
“Toby Alderweireld has been training __with the team this week. We need to assess him tomorrow to see if he’s ready or not,” he said.
“Danny Rose is available again after his suspension.
“Ben Davies and Erik Lamela are still out.
“We are a little bit worried about Lamela because the injury has not progressed in the way we expect.”
